The Department of Veterinary Services, Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the State chapter of the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) and other NGOs - Tesedona Foundation for Animal Health, MoboVet, War Against Rabies, Zoetis, VetConnect, Life Stock Management Services and Vaccinate 500 Project; will have a phone in Radio Talk show and also offer free vaccination for dogs from 28th September to 12 October 2020 in Makurdi metropolis.
This to create awareness in the public about the hazards of rabies and how dog mediated rabies can be prevented and the need to be part of the collaboration.
There will also be advocacy to the policy makers on need for requisite policies and legislation to enable elimination of dog mediated rabies by 2030.
