Animal Nepal is an animal welfare organization based in Nepal. We believe that all animals have the right to live a life free from pain, suffering and human cruelty. Animal Nepal works through carefully designed interventions, animal rescue, research, campaigns and legislation. For World Rabies Day 2019, Animal Nepal will be holding a series of events which will include mass vaccination and awareness spreading about Rabies.

Program of events:

22 September - 27 September - School education program about Rabies - Animal Nepal's Community Educator will visit local schools to spread awareness about rabies.

24 September - Animal Nepal's monthly television program 'Conversations about animal welfare' will focus on Rabies, with information about rabies and a Q&A session with our Senior Veterinarian - Dr Atish Kumar Yadav.

25 September - Mass Rabies Vaccination Camp in Chobhar - a remote area on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley

27 September - Animal Nepal's weekly radio program 'Conversations about animal welfare' will focus on Rabies, with the host sharing information about the disease and a Q&A session with our Senior Veterinarian - Dr Atish Kumar Yadav.

28 September - Mass Rabies Vaccination Camp in Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site which falls within our working area. We have been vaccinating stray dogs at this site each year on World Rabies Day since 2009. By choosing this location, we not only ensure continuity in rabies prevention in the local community, but by holding the program in a location which experiences a large volume of footfall, our endeavor in spreading awareness about rabies prevention will reach a larger audience.
