This year, the Animal & Plant Health Agency are marking World Rabies Day through a series of events:
- 22nd September: a seminar was held by the rabies team who gave a talk on rabies. This was followed by a Q&A session with a panel of experts who discussed key issues related to rabies control and answered questions.
- 28th September: we are holding a rabies themed quiz and cake sale with proceeds going towards the Global Alliance for Rabies Control. We are also publishing a new blog on the APHA Science blog site: APHA’s Rabies and Viral Zoonoses workgroup works to protect the risk of rabies in animals and humans in the UK and abroad. In this blog, we hear from Dr. Guanghui Wu as she talks about this important area of work and a passion stemming from an early childhood experience.
