Vaccinate to eliminate
Following events were organized by Vets Care Club, UVAS
1) Awareness session for school children (a charity school for poor children). These underprivileged kids are at higher risk of Dog Bites due to their environmental conditions and lifestyle. our young vets were keen to help those children the risk of Dog bites and Rabies with fun activites. Painting competition and prize distribution was done among them.
2) Awareness walk in University of veterinary and animal sciences leads by Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Senior Tutor Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Dr Javaid Brooke hospital, Dr Arif Sadaat International, Dr. Haris Ghazi Brothers, other faculty members and students
3) Awareness seminar in which facts and figures about rabies were described. Seminar was given by Dr. Hassan Mushtaq, Chairman of Epidemiology, UVAS and Dr. Ayesha Arif, Assistant Product Manager, Ghazi Brothers.
4) Documentary Clip on "Rabies Free Lahore" was played as a tribute and to highlight the efforts on eradication of rabies from Lahore, Pakistan by 2030.
5) Free vaccination desk at UVAS pet centre and 100 animals were vaccinated on Rabies Day.
6) Poster competition on theme "Vaccinate to Eliminate."
7) Pledge signing with pledge "I pledge to support an end to deaths from rabies by 2030 for the good of humans and animals."
8) Shields were distributed among our guests and prize distribution.
