With an aim to create impact on students, community dogs and people, IVSA Paklihawa, Nepal on the collaboration with Rotaract Club of Lumbini Buddha, Rotaract Club of Bhairahawa, Rotaract Club of Lumbini Siddharthanagar, Rotaract Club of Center Lumbini, Rotaract Club of Lumbini Buddha Land and Rotaract Club of Lumbini Siyari is organizing a week long events themed "Rabies, Facts not Fear" in the vicinity of Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), Paklihawa Campus, Bhairahawa from 22nd September, 2021 to 28th September, 2021.
The list of events are:
1) Mass Awareness Program : Through Radio Broadcasting, we aim to make an impactful awareness to all the people of our country.
2) School Awareness Program: With the aim to educate school students and teachers about Rabies, including its epidemiology, Causes, Treatment, Prevention and Current Scenario on Nepal. This will be conducted separately in different schools from all the collaborating organizations throughout Bhairahawa city. Chartpaper/ Poster Presentation will be carried out.
3) Community Awareness Program: Morning/ Evening Rally (2 shifts) will be conducted throughout the Bhairahawa city to make people aware about Rabies. Placards, Pamphlets and posters will be displayed for the awareness campaign.
4) Mass Vaccination and Reflective Collar Installation: The domestic and community dogs around Bhairahawa and Butwal City will be vaccinated and Reflective Collar will be worn to them after vaccination. The increasing cases of road accidents of dogs has drawn our concern and thus, reflective collar has been included in the campaign. These cities consists total of 25 wards with more than 8000 dogs.
5) Rabies Quiz 2021: A day of quiz will be held in the college's auditorium with 4 different rounds (General, Buzzer, Rapid Fire Round and Visual Round). We will be taking participants in a team of 2 and winning team will be awarded with special cash prizes.
6) Social Media Awareness Program:
Paragraph writing competition: An analytical question will be asked to social media users through google form and participants are required to submit their answer in given time frame. The best response will be awarded with cash prizes.
Poster about Facts: Several Posters will be released depicting the facts about rabies on the official Facebook page of IVSA Paklihawa and other organizations as well.
