ENGLISH

This event is a multidisciplinary conference where we will share the facts and scientific evidence with the community of Butembo in the Democratic Republic of Congo in particular and that of the world in general.

It should be noted that the environment where the event will take place is characterized by mistrust and community resistance to health interventions due to a population long scarred by war and living in precariousness.

Recently, this region experienced the 10th and 12th Ebola epidemics. During this health crisis, rumors and infodemic made responses difficult due to the lack of community engagement. Therefore, this environment needs the intensified circulation of good information on public health problems, particularly emerging/re-emerging diseases, and appropriate risk communication adapted to its particular context.

Thus, apart from the presentations, posters posting short and easy to understand messages will be propagated in social networks and distributed to the community and others will be displayed to sensitize the community on its commitment to the fight against rabies in the framework of the objective "0 cases of human death from rabies by 2030".
