On the occasion of World Rabies Day, the Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College, Surat held an awareness generation event at Althan Urban Health Training Center, Suart.

The OPD premises was used for a role play to begin with and all the OPD attendees were made aware about the deadly disease through it, which was successful in generating interest among them.

This was followed by a sharing with them the facts of dog bite in their own area in the last six months which was more than 300 with quite few completed anti rabies vaccination. This made more impact on them regarding the burden of the problem towards which many of them were unaware. It was a quite engaging session and we were encouraged when there were questions from the audience regarding dog bite and related misbelieves.

Great team effort!
