• The Rabies in Borneo (RIB) Conference was created as the inaugural congregation of experts in the prevention of rabies in Borneo. Fashioned after the Rabies in the Americas (RITA) and Rabies in West Africa (RIWA), Rabies in Borneo or RIB for short, aims to be the authoritative voice in the prevention and control of rabies in the community.
• The Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVSS) aims for Sarawak to be rabies free by the year 2025 and RIB is one of the steps towards that goal.
• RIB will bring together international and local experts and practitioners to create a platform of knowledge transfer and exchange. For the inaugural RIB, the aim is to unpack two approaches of rabies prevention; the scientific (medical and veterinary) method and community participation.
