Food and Veterinary Agency of Republic of North Macedonia hosts World Rabies Day celebration events since 2012.

On the occasion of this World Rabies Day 2020, on September 28 2020, the Food and Veterinary Agency will be hosting a round table to put together the policy making organizations and private veterinary practices to discuss the best methods of ensuring rabies-free country status and raise the awareness of the risks of rabies in pet animals, stray animals and wild animals. Another objective of the round table is to promote the importance of the vaccination against Rabies in order to contribute to healthier and safer community for all.

During the event, the representatives from the Food and Veterinary Agency will promote the legal framework and the owners’ obligations related to the prevention of spreading the Rabies, while the private veterinary practices will share the challenges related to the implementation of the vaccination policy on the field.

The event materials and pictures are published on the web site of the Food and Veterinary Agency http://fva.gov.mk/ and the Facebook channel of the Food and Veterinary Agency https://www.facebook.com/fva.gov.mk

Private veterinary practices and pet owners actively participated in this year promotion of the campaign by taking photographs of the pet animals being regularly vaccinated against Rabies and awarded with the certificate for vaccination against rabies which is part of the global promotional campaign for celebration of the World Rabies Day.
