The 14th World Rabies Day under the theme “End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate” was celebrated by the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU, Jalukie, Peren at Mhainamtsi village of district Peren. The Rabies awareness cum free antirabies vaccination programme was conducted with an aim to spread awareness among the villagers to help in eradication of this deadly disease. Extension literatures were distributed which contained the information on this important zoonotic disease apart from group discussion and interaction by the faculties with the participants. A total number of 62 pet dogs and cats were vaccinated free of cost on the occasion. As a part of the programme an online essay writing competition on the topic “Challenges in Rabies Prevention and Control” was also conducted among the students of the Veterinary College.
