WRD-2018 started on September,19, 2018 with visits to various schools in nearby villages in order to create awareness about disease rabies among the school children.Lectures were delivered on prevention and control of rabies in the schools as well as as in a professional institute.During the period September 20-27,2018 campaigns were organized in different parts of the city Hisar to educate the public during morning walk and evening walk periods ,visiting public transport etc on prevention of rabies. Thousands of farmers from village side were also made aware about the menace of disease rabies during a Kisan Mela organized in the State Agriculture university at Hisar. On September 28,2018 a free anti-rabies vaccination camp was organized by Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology in collaboration with Department of Veterinary Clinical Complex ,College of Veterinary Sciences, LUVAS , Hisar. In this camp more than 100 dogs and cats were vaccinated against rabies.During the period of WRD celebration functions were also organized at Disease investigation laboratories of Dept.VPHE,LUVAS at district headquarters to educate the school children and rural masses in particular about the disease rabies. To ensure the participation of students of College of Veterinary Sciences,Hisar a College level quiz competition was also organized on Sept.28 and winners were given prizes. Scientists Dr Ashok Kumar and Dr Pallavi Moudygil from the Dept. VPHE,LUVAS participated in the deliberation on Rabies prevention and control telecast on the national TV channel.
