Together against Rabies

Blind Love Africa

South Africa

Free state, ladybrand and Botshabelo (Local event)

Sep 21, 2015 (8.00) to Sep 28, 2015 (17.00)

Blind Love is a registered non profit trust that operates in the central Free State, South Africa. We are committed to providing forever homes for blind/ disabled horses in need. We are also committed to improving lives of all animals in our surrounding poorer communities.

We are working at developing a Humane Education program in 15 preschools in these areas, as well as actively encouraging people to attend monthly primary healthcare clinics with their animals.

During the week leading up to World Rabies day we will hold sessions with the teachers (we reach almost 500 children) and encourage them to talk to the children about this disease and it's prevention. We will also host a coloring competition for all the children in our local newspaper.

The following week at the CVC vet clinic we will be inoculating dogs against rabies and will hand out information leaflets about the disease. This year we are also hoping to secure a wall in town where we can paint a mural to raise awareness for our fight "Together against Rabies!"
