Voice of Animal Nepal (VOAN) is a Kathmandu based national level Non Government Organization working for street and abandoned animal in Nepal. During Covid 19 nationwide lockdown VOAN had initiated "Feeding to Stray dogs" program contineously for the last one and half month in Redcross and Kharibot area of Balkot.
Under this program approx. 80 - 90 street community dogs were fed in that area. Balkot is in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. It comprises of Kaushaltar, Redcross, Balkot Chowk and Rose village housing. It is estimated that there are 500 street and stray and abandoned dogs in this Area.
During our "Feeding to Stray dogs" program we received much more request for animal birth control and anti rabies from local people.
