On the eve of world rabies day with the theme " Rabies facts, not fear" Veterinary Service Department South Delhi Municipal Corporation organised Mass anti rabies vaccination camps in Delhi , the capital of India to commemorate the occasion. In order to control the most dreaded disease rabies the mass vaccination of stray dogs was undertaken in the area viz Rajauri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Raghuveer Nagar, Goyala Dairy, Shyam Vihar, Dinapur Goyala Road, Qutub Vihar Phase-1,2 Chhawla Village and Tajpur Old Double Story Lajpat Nagar for Sector-5,6,7,8,9,12,Rk Puram, Ekta Vihar and Ambedkar Coloni.Total 472 (Four Hundred Seventy Two ) dogs vaccinated against rabies and 17 dogs vans participated in the event.This is an inciative to minimised the death occured due to rabies in India as per report of world health organisation (WHo)- An estimated 60,000 death of human beings takes place every year, out of which 36% (20000-21,000) are from India.
