Nepal veterinary Students' Association - Nepal Polytechnic Institute (NVSA-NPI) is non-political, non-profit, oriented technical organization formed with the motto of involving the students studying B.V.Sc. &A.H. for maintaining mutual bonding, togetherness for development of quality education, prestige to vets as well as involving the students in research, exploration, training, vaccination campaigns, seminar activities in scientific way was established in Nepal Polytechnic Institute, Bharatpur-11,Bhojad, Chitwan, Nepal. NVSA-NPI is working under the guidance of Nepal veterinary Association as a sister organization.
Like every year, NVSA-NPI this year is going to be involved in "World Rabies Day-2020" on upcoming date 28th sept. with official slogan "END RABIES: COLLABORATE, VACCINATE" in remembrance of RABIES: Zero By 30, plan started in 2018 by GARC, OIE, FAO, WHO. Due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic; prevention guidelines as suggested by Government of Nepal and WHO must be followed so we have outlined the program within these guidelines.
NVSA-NPI decided to conduct week-long series of virtual and online activities togethering students with the motive to raise awareness against Rabies to general people through social media platform.
Program are scheduled below for Rabies Week.
1. Vaccination on own area (preferred location) : Free vaccination campaign of dogs and cats will be conducted on different location of Nepal by the members of NVSA-NPI
2. Webinar on Rabies: we have planned to conduct one day webinar by skilled Veterinarian on the context of Rabies to aware Veterinary Students including youth of the community.
3. Virtual awareness program targeting School and College: Rabies awareness program will be conducted on different School and Colleges via online platform.
4. Rising awareness against Rabies on Social media platform: videos and posters will be presented on social media through NVSA-NPI official facebook page.
