In the run up to World Rabies Day, there is a lively and fascinating online discussion taking place on how rabies prevention has progressed in the last five to ten years.

It offers insight into how cultural factors surrounding dog ownership influence the spread of the disease and how zoonoses (diseases that spread between animals and people) all to often "fall between the cracks" of ministerial responisbility.

You can read the full the thread here.

Have your say!

Please contribute to the discussion, if you can. Your experiences help to provide a fuller understanding of the profile of rabies and rabies prevention measures.

We look forward to reporting on the full discussion in October.
