Please note, the deadline for submissions for this workshop has now passed.

A 10-day residential course entitled "Workshop on Surveillance and Control of Rabies" is being organised by the Pasteur Institute of Dakar for 3-14th December 2013.

The course provides practical training with a focus on Africa, and emphasises the need for better data on rabies epidemiology, increased intersectorial cooperation, and improved prophylaxis against rabies.

Discussions on the implementation of rabies control strategies in Africa are also included.

The course is suitable for students and professionals of animal and human public health sectors. Applicants are required to complete around 70 hours of online pre-training which will cover the theory part.

The 10 day residential part gives the students hands-on practical laboratory experience. The course is mostly in French, with French translation available for some presentations made in English.
