In response to World Rabies Day, 2024 Taiwan national rabies day event was held grandly on September 22, at Pingtung County Animal Home. Dr. Wen-Zhen Tu, the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Chwei-Jang Chiou, the Director of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency (APHIA), and Dr. Deng Ming-Zhong, the Director of the Veterinary Research Institute, Dr. Kun-hui Lin, Chairman of the Pingtung County Veterinary Medical Association, as well as heads and representatives of various counties and cities animal epidemic prevention agencies and other distinguished guests attended this event. This event was to promote pet owners to fulfill their responsibilities for animal welfare and rabies prevention. The event provided free rabies vaccinations, pet microchip implantation registration, pet health examinations and other benefits. Pet ownership education courses were held too. Many gifts for pets were offered in the event, making the event very exciting for everybody.
