In response to 928 World Rabies Day, the county government has scheduled a dog and cat rabies vaccination and pet microchip registration event at the Livestock Disease Prevention and Control Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 26. In the event, attended pet owners would receive a bottle of deworming drops and participate a lottery to receive small gifts. Each shot of rabies vaccine was 100 TWDs. The registration fee for pet chip implantation was 300 TWDs. Attendees were welcomed to bring their pets. Rabies infects humans and other warm-blooded mammals, including dogs, cats, cattle, horses and wild animals. The mortality rate is almost 100%. Vaccinating your pets of rabies annually can effectively prevent the occurrence of rabies, and it is also the owner's responsibility. To prevent rabies, you should keep in mind the 2 “Don’t 1” rules: do not contact wild animals, do not abandon pets, and take dogs and cats pets regularly for rabies vaccinations.
