The importance of efforts to implement the "One Health" approach in preventing and controlling Rabies in Aceh is because one Health is an important part of the global health architecture which is expected to make communication, coordination and collaboration between the human health, animal health and environment health. To answer this challenge, the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) Aceh Branch together with the Student Activity Unit of Interested in the Animal Profession (UKM Miproheksa) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University in collaboration with the Dinas Peternakan Aceh (Aceh Livestock Service) will carry out World Rabies Day activities in Aceh 2023.
Activities during this event include:
- Pet vaccination drive, licensing and pet passport campaign
- Awareness Talk Show - Rabies in Aceh, One Health for All
- Cat Show
- Short video demonstration
- Open coloring contest (for ages 5 to 10)
- Open photography and short video competition
- Awareness talk on the significance and importance of applying for a pet passport
- Booth exhibits from relevant agencies regarding rabies control and prevention
