
1) The Online Rabies Art Competition : Competitors were asked to submit their art work with a criterion that their works would be based on the Rabies disease. This was held between the 15th to 28th of September, with eleven entries and Danjuma Muhibbah, a second year student of Veterinary Medicine University of Abuja emerging as winner of the competition and Uche-Daniel Lawrence as the first runner, Ilo Reuphina as the second runner up with Annette Yakubu as the best poetic entry.
2) Physical events : The physical events were held between 26th to 28th September 2022 and we're sponsored by FarmAlert Nigeria and The Veterinary Army, they include;
a) Street rally : On the 26th of September 2022 members of our association went to the streets of Gwagwalagda, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria to educate people on the rabies diseases. We made sure to speak with street traders and workers on what Rabies disease entailed and it's prevention.
b) Radio Stations Visitation : On the 27th and 28th of September 2022, we visited Farmalert radio station and Love fm Abuja, Nigeria respectively to sensitize the people of Abuja Nigeria on Rabies disease, it transmission, clinical signs and prevention.
c) Primary and Secondary School Visitation: On the 27th of September 2022, we visited Christ International Academy Gwagwalagda in collaboration with One Health Club University of Abuja Nigeria and International Veterinary Students Association, University of Abuja Nigeria. We had over a hundred and fifty students in attendance (both from primary and secondary schools), the students were sensitized on Rabies disease and after the sensitization a quiz section was held with thirteen students emerging victorious.
d) Mass Vaccination : On the 28th of September 2022 ,FCTA Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat flagged off the door to door rabies vaccination at Nyanya Veterinary Clinic Abuja Nigeria, in which we helped out in the vaccination of dogs and cats. Also some of our students visited the police veterinary clinic where the helped out in the vaccination program too.
