Taichung City celebrated the 2024 World Rabies Day on September 29, 2024. A community gathering titled "Be A Responsible Pet Owner: Together for the Preservation of the Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis)" was held at the Chaotian Temple in Wuri District, Taichung City (No. 401, Gongyuan Rd., Wuri Dist., Taichung City). The event aimed to raise awareness of rabies and also offered free vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering for dogs and cats in high-risk areas. This event sought to enhance rabies vaccination rates for pets and to reduce the stray animal population, ensuring the health and safety of both humans and animals.
