Together with a representative from the Shkodër health care institution, we embarked on a mission to raise public awareness about the prevention of dog bites, both at home and on the streets. Our team visited the local Accident and Emergency (A&E) department and traversed the city center, engaging with the community to educate them on this important public health issue.

Despite the fact that Albania has been free from cases of rabies for a decade now, we strongly emphasized the importance of properly vaccinating cats and dogs to safeguard them against this deadly disease. Rabies, if left untreated, can have devastating consequences, and we wanted to ensure that the citizens of Shkodër were well-informed and proactive in protecting their beloved pets and themselves.

Our goal was to empower the residents of Shkodër with the knowledge and tools they need to keep themselves, their families, and their pets safe from the dangers of dog bites and rabies.
