This year Manali Strays will be holding several camps around World Rabies Day.

The main project will be focussing on Kullu town. For the first time ever, a sterilisation and rabies vaccination camp will be held in Kullu in collaboration with the Municipal Council and Department of Animal Husbandry.

Manali Strays is organising an ABC camp to sterilise and vaccinate 130 dogs. By getting the community involved in feeding and catching the street dogs, we will help them to be more involved in the welfare of the dogs. We have witnessed this many times on our previous camps at other smaller locations. Kullu is the district's administrative capital, so a successful camp will encourage further collaboration, enabling us to reach more dogs and impact the lives of many more people. With an approximate human population of 25,400 and an ever increasing street dog population this will be the first of many such camps to humanely control the street dog population and prevent future rabies cases in the town.

We will also be holding several satellite events on the 28th & 29th of September; vaccinating street dogs in several villages and towns of Kullu district.
