Inaugural address by Dean of MMCH&RI Dr. Rajasekhar

Under the Auspices of Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research, on the occasion of World Rabies Day 2022, Seminar on Rabies was conducted in the old CME Hall for the MBBS Third Professional Year (CBME 2019-20) students, Interns, postgraduates and faculty on 28.09.2022. Program was organiszed by the Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and National Service Scheme. Under the guidance of Dean Dr.K.V.Rajasekhar, Professor and HOD & UBA coordinator Dr.Kokila Selvaraj, Professor & NSS coordinator Dr. K. Shankar and under the supervision of  Associate Professor Dr.K.R.Pandiyan, the program was organized by faculties and postgraduates of Department of Community Medicine.

Theme of this year was” One Health Zero Death”

The program started with Thamizh Thai vazhthu (Prayer). Welcome address was given by Dr.Kokila Selvaraj (Professor and HOD). Inaugural address was given by Dean Dr. Rajasekhar. Dr. Priya Raj MBBS., DPH., Deputy Director of Health Services Kanchipuram District inspired the importance of Public Health.

Guest Lecture about prevention and control of Rabies was given by Dr. Jeshtin MBBS., DPH., District Epidemiologist Kanchipuram District which was very informative and useful. Pledge to prevent rabies was taken by Students, Interns, Postgraduates and Faculties.Vote of thanks was given by Dr. R. Rajkumar (Professor). Programme came to an end with National Anthem.
