A myriad of activities undertaken by District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Sonitpur in collaboration with different departments and NGOs to create awareness about rabies in the district. Awareness activities with an intent to first understand narratives targeted at lower primary school children from tea estates (Tarajuli T.E., Mcleod Russel, Rangapara) through art, followed by interactive games and sessions with a short documentary screening to foster healthy human-dog relations helped by Mission Rabies and WWF. Other activities included awareness camps in fringe areas of Nameri National Park with forest officials and EDC committee members as well as school children and communities of Kaziranga National Park through street play by students of Tezpur University, Mass Comm & Journalism department. Awareness songs were recorded and aimed to be released at the final event with talks by Dr. Jyoti B. Dutta, Dr. Prasanta Kr. Boro, Dr. Anupam Sarmah and Health Department with administrators of the district attending the event. Radio program with Health department to be on air on 28th.
