Celebration of WORLD RABIES DAY in Sana'a 29th, September 2018

Celebrating World Rabies Day in Yemen through the implementation of a panel discussion (seminar) on the phenomenon of the spread of dogs in Yemen, the increase of human rabies victim cases and the review of some cases of rabies in the capital Sana'a. Also will present the International efforts to eliminate rabies especially the Global initiative (Zero by 30) which set a global strategic plan to end human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030. Beside that it will discuss and address the mechanisms and methods used in awareness raising, training, immunization and control.


The seminar will invite all the stakeholders to join the discussion table from the Sana'a Local Authorities, Government Agencies such as the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Information, the private sector, such as private hospitals and private universities, international organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, UNICEF, Save The Children, and the ICRC, and a number of CSOs in addition to invite a number of Local Community Leaders.


The Seminar will be followed by a 2-day joint workshop of the above-mentioned stakeholders to develop and reach a strategic plan to eliminate Rabies in Yemen and share this plan with the Global Plan (Zero 30) in order to make Yemen join the Global Campaign to End Rabies by 2030.
