Data-driven champions: Featured users of the GARC Data Platform

In December, we highlighted the global reach and impact of the GARC Data Platform that is actively used in over 30 countries around the world by more than 70 different organizations. While these are extraordinary numbers and achievements, they don’t show how the tools are really being used to create change and drive rabies elimination efforts in the communities affected by this dreadful disease. To do that, we have launched a new initiative called the ‘GARC Data Platform Featured User of the Month’. We select organizations using the Platform and promote the work that they are doing, while highlighting how the Platform helps them to work effectively with the data that they collect.

One dedicated organization that uses the Platform is selected each month. This organization then works together with the GARC team to develop a short but informative article describing their work and highlighting their achievements using the data and visuals from the Platform. GARC publishes this article on its social media channels and on the website, ensuring that the fantastic work achieved by the organization is recognized around the world.

As rabies elimination is the responsibility of everyone – from community members to governmental officials – the ‘GARC Data Platform Featured User of the Month’ can be any group or organization, large or small, that is using the Platform. Every dog vaccinated and every person educated about rabies prevention is crucial to achieving success, and we wil

l use this new initiative to put those organizations that are making a difference on a pedestal for the world to recognize and take note of.

Be on the lookout for this badge on the featured organizations websites as they are encouraged to add the badge to show that they are actively contributing to global rabies data and data-driven initiatives!
