World Rabies Day 2019: Five ways to kick-start your planning

World Rabies Day, the biggest annual awareness event in the rabies prevention calendar, is just a few months away. September 28, 2019 will be the 13th World Rabies Day, and this year’s theme–Rabies: Vaccinate to Eliminate–focuses on vaccination, the foundation of all rabies control efforts.

Some of the main ways to raise awareness on World Rabies Day include holding events and reaching out through media channels.  Here are five ways to help with your planning:

  1. Use the new 2019 themed banners and logos in your promotional materials for your event

  2. Register your event on the World Rabies Day platform to get your own event page and share your work more widely through the GARC social media network

  3. Create a colourful awareness poster with your own logo and image to use for your event

  4. Download our World Rabies Day event resources, including our event organisation toolkit, radio scripts and awareness resources

  5. Follow GARC on Facebook or Twitter to get the latest updates and resources, including the launch date of this year’s World Rabies Day Awards nominations and new social media toolkit
