2nd GARC-WAP rabies stakeholder workshop
The 2nd GARC-WAP rabies stakeholder workshop under the auspices of the Pan-African Rabies Control Network (PARACON) focused on providing a select number of West African countries with directed support in terms of using and implementing the existing rabies control tools developed by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) such as the:
- The Rabies Epidemiological Bulletin (REB) and its new components [Rabies Case Surveillance, Rabies Vaccination tracker, Rabies Treatment Tracker],
- The GARC Education Platform (GEP)
The workshop also provided a platform for representatives from participating countries to provide progress updates on activities based on the SARE tool and in-country workshops undertaken in recent years by GARC and its partners. Furthermore, the concept of Dog Population Management and its roles in rabies control were explored through a targeted group workshop session.
