#3ToBeFree campaign

#3ToBeFree from rabies in Zanzibar. Help GARC, a trusted charity, raise money to vaccinate more dogs.

At GARC, we pride ourselves with thinking global but acting local. There is no better example of this, than our work in Zanzibar, aiming to make the island rabies-free one Shehia (town) at a time.

The GARC initiative began in 2016 with help and support from World Animal Protection and has successfully continued over the years building capacity among locals, vaccinating dogs, and empowering the authorities. The vision of a rabies-free island has never been so close!

So far, with your support, we have established laboratory capacity – enabling suspected rabies cases to be accurately diagnosed, while more than 40 people across the island have been trained as rabies educators, spreading awareness, education and hope to the people of Zanzibar. More than 12,500 animals have been vaccinated and counting! 2020 has been a challenging year for charities worldwide. We are reaching out to you – our faithful supporters - for help so that we can ensure that our life saving work continues.

#3ToBeFree from rabies in Zanzibar. Help GARC, a trusted charity, raise money to vaccinate more dogs and prevent them being abused and mistreated.

Remember, everything comes in threes. Three’s a charm. Three dollars, three friends, three Shehias, 3.3 human lives saved every 30 minutes. Three to be Free from rabies.

For just $3* we can vaccinate a dog and ensure that people are safe, and that dogs do not suffer inhumane treatment, suffering, and a painful, lonely death. Visit our dedicated appeal page for a video showing the horrors of rabies in animals.

During this festive season, will you help us reach our target of $1,000, giving the gift of life for as little as $3?
